"NE XH"-service indicator device
An indicator lamp located on the instru-
ment panel reminds the driver of the point
of time for the emission systems required
maintenance service (e.g. cleaning of EGR-
device, changing the oxygen sensor etc).
The indicatar larmp is actuated by a coun-
ter unit located under the instrument pa-
nel. The counter unit is driyen by a wire
from the speedometer and engages at
15,000 miles. The counter unit is reset by
means of a push button on the unit.

Auxiliary fan on cars equipped with air
conditioning.
An auxiliary radiator and an auxiliary fan
are fitted beside the standard radiator and
fan on cars equipped with air conditioning.
The auxiliary fan cuts-in as soon as the air
conditioning system is switched on.
Pressure testing of the cooling system
Leakages in the eaoling system are often
difficult to detect owing to the fact that
the cooling system only becomes fully pre-
ssurized when the car is on the road. An
excellent method of testing the system is
to use a pressure tester which pressurizes
the system and enables the radiator hoses
and seals to be checked. The highest per-
missible test pressure is 1.2 bar
(17.5 lb/in*). The pressure at which the
radiator cap opens can also be checked
using the pressure-testing equipment. The
opening pressure should beobetween 0.9 and
1.2 bar (13.0 and 17.5 Ib/in*)

To remove
1. Remove the distributor cap.
2. Disconnect the high tension lead from
the distributor.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
4. Remove the three distributor retaining
bolts.
5. Withdraw the distributor from the
camshaft cover.
To refit
l. Check the position of the drive slot in
the camshaft (note that the slot is
offset) and turn the distributor shaft
so that its coupling claws are lined up
with the slot.

Headlights, Canada type
General
The headlights, which are built into the
front of the car, can be taken apart, mak-
ing it possible for the glass or reflector to
be renewed separately.
The headlight bulbs have two filaments for
high and low beam respectively; the beam
elevation is controlled by the combined
headlight dimmer/flasher and direction in-
dicator control lever on the steering col-
umn. A light on the instrument panel glows
blue when the headlights are on high beam.
