it is moved up. Pulling the lever towards the steering
wheel shifts the headlights from low to high beam or
vice versa, this action also flashes the high beam when
the main headlight switch is off.

3. Headlight and parking light switch.
Flicking the switch to first position turns on side and
tail lights independently of the ignition. Flicking to
second position turns on the headlights as well, but
only if the ignition is switched to G, K or S. The switch
plate lies flush with the instrument panel when in the
headlights on position; this reduces the risk of acciden-
tally switching off the lights
4. Hazard warning signal switch.
All four direction indicators flash together when this
switch is pulled out. The hazard warning signal must
only be used when the car is stalled in the roadway,
e.g. after an accident, in a position where it is liable
to obstruct or endanger other vehicles.

INSTRUMENTS

5. Instruments
TEMP Temperature gauge tor engine coolant. The green
indicates normal running temperature.
TANK Fuel gauge. The fuel warning light comes on
when there are less than 2 US gallons (1.75 Imp. gal,
8 liters) left in the tank.
MPH Speedometer and odometer. The speedometer
is graduated in mph and the odometer shows the total
mileage of the vehicle.
O. Oil pressure warning light. Glows red to indicate dan-
gerously low oil pressure or oil level. If it lights up
when the car is on the move, the engine must be
switched off at once and the cause investigated.
D. Direction indicator repeater light. Flashes green in
time with the direction indicators.
G. Charge indicator light. If this light glows yellow, the
alternator is not charging.
B. Handbrake warning light. Glows red when handbrake
is on.
FB. Footbrake warning light. Glows red to indicate exces-
sive pedal stroke. The cause may be leakage from one
of the two brake line circuits. (Wear on brake blocks
is indicated by increased pedal pressure.) If this light
lights up, investigate the cause of the trouble and re-
pair the break if any.
H. High beam indicator light. Glows blue when the head-
lights are on high beam.
An electric clock is available as an optional accessory. It
fits in place of the »99» emblem.
G6. Instrument lighting rheostat. Turning the button regu-
lates the intensity of illumination. This switch operates
when the outside lights are on.
7. Windshield wiper/washer and horn control lever (see
iltustration)
