Bringing a Saab back
from Europe
has a lot of advantages

1

One advantage, of course, is that you get to use your new Saab while

you're in Europe. Thereby saving lots of money just getting around

seeing the sights. Current rental costs for a comparable vehicle are
approximately $800.00 month.

2

Secondly, if you live in the United States and have purchased your
new Saab at one of our nearly 400 U.S. Dealers, Saab-Scania of Ame-
rica Inc. will pay the customs duty, port broker's clearance charges,
and even have your new Saab cleaned and ready for you to drive away
from the port broker's office. This can save you $250.00 or more. If the
car is bought in Canada, Scancar Ltd. will give you the same service,
with the exception of the Canadian customs duty which is your own
responsibility.

3

Another advantage is that you can drive your Saab in Europe and then

bring it back and drive it again in the U.S. without any modifications.

Your new Tourist Delivery Saab will be delivered to you, fully equipped

according to American specifications, and because the 1976 Saabs —

in contrast to most other 1976 cars, imported or domestic — do not

require the use of unleaded fuel, it can be fuelled at any gas station in
Europe or in the U.S. with regular grade gasoline.

4

Still another advantage is that we'll ship it home free the Swedish port
of Gothenburg, to Providence, R.I., Baltimore, Md., Los Angeles, San
Francisco, Ca., Portland, Or., Newark, N.J., Portsmouth, Va., Chicago,
lll., Minneapolis, St. Paul, Minn., Montreal and Vancouver, Canada.

Q: Where can | order a Saab
for pick-up in Europe?

A: Any authorized Saab dealer in the U.S. and Canada can
arrange to have a Saab waiting for you in Europe. He'll ask you
to fill out an order form and registration papers. Then he'll help
you pick your model, the color, and the accessories that you'd
like to have on your Saab. After you’ve decided where and
when you'd like to take delivery of your Saab in Europe, he'll
take care of all details.

A deposit of only $300 is necessary when you place your
order. This, of course, is deducted from the cost of the car at
the time of final payment (not less than 30 days prior to taking
delivery). The price of your Saab includes pre-delivery servicing,
registration and the cost of all other documents needed for
travel in Europe.

Q: When do | order?

A: It's important to order your Saab well in advance — approxi-
mately eight to ten weeks before you'd like to take delivery of
your Saab in Europe. This will allow enough time for adequate
Preparation, scheduling and confirmation of order.

If your travel schedule doesn't permit you enough time to
order eight to ten weeks in advance, it is possible to order
certain models in less than the prescribed time, depending on
their availability.

Check with your Saab dealer; he'll do his best to meet
your needs.

Q: Can | finance
my purchase of a Saab?

A: Yes. Full financing is available to persons seeking European
delivery. Your Saab dealer will be glad to arrange a plan suit-
able to your needs.

Q: Suppose | want to trade
in my present car?

A: All Saab dealers offer you the opportunity to trade in your
Present car on a new Saab. Keep in mind however, that used
cars lose value when newer models go on sale. So if you do
decide on a trade in, discuss it with your dealer as soon as you
can. He'll help you get the most for your money. And your car.

Q: What if | want
to change my order?

A: Changes can normally be made on an order up to six weeks
prior to delivery date. Should a complete cancellation be un-
avoidable, Saab will move as quickly as possible to halt the
processing of your order. However, any change or cancellation
received after six weeks prior to delivery date will result in a
cancellation charge.

Q: When can my Saab
be delivered?

A: Your Saab can normally be delivered Monday through Friday
at all regular Saab Delivery points in Europe. Your dealer can
provide specific information as regards business hours and
holiday schedules for all delivery points.

Q: What will | need
when | pick up my Saab?

A: When you pick up your car, you will need your copy of the
Car Order, the Confirmation of Order, and your passport.

Page 4

Q: Can anyone else pick it up?

A: No one but the actual purchaser may take delivery of the
car.

Q: How much will it cost
to pick up my Saab?

A: Saab Tourist Delivery agents will go to great lengths to deli-
ver your car to wherever you say. However, there are different
rates for different locations. But if you pick up in Gothenburg
it's absolutely free.

Q: Is there an additional
charge for registration?

A: The registration of your new Saab will be arranged through
the factory in Sweden at no additional cost. In most European
countries, an application for temporary registration of a car on
a European tax and duty-free basis can be carried out in your
absence. It’s simply a matter of filling out the necessary forms
provided to you by your Saab dealer. The application will be
sent, along with your order form, to our factory agent, who will
immediately begin processing procedures with the country in
which you seek delivery. In most cases, temporary auto re-
gistration remains valid for the length of your insurance cover-
age — but not beyond a calendar year (12 months).

A prolongation of the registration is granted only on rare
occasions. Should you not be in a position to export your car
from that country within the validity period of the registration,
you may become liable to payment of import duty and local
automobile taxes. We suggest you investigate beforehand the
local duty and tax laws.

Q: Once | take possession,
am | all set to go?
Will | have everything
necessary to tour Europe
without a problem?

A: Yes to both questions. The delivery agent will have your
Saab ready for the road, with all the necessary registration and
insurance papers. He'll explain each document in detail, de-
monstrate your car, and answer any questions you may have.
From start to finish, delivery will probably take less than an
hour. And by the time you're finished, here’s what you'll have:
Owner's Manual.

Service Booklet with a free service certificate.

Saab European dealer list.

European Registration Certificate.

International Insurance Certificate.

Insurance Policy.

Saab Home Shipment Folder.

Road map.

Q: What about service
and warranty
while I’m in Europe?

A: You, as a new Saab owner, are entitled to a Free Service
Inspection .. . a complete check of your car at 1200 miles. You
only pay for oil change, filter and lubricants. The rest is handled
between the servicing dealer and the factory.

Q: Won’t | need insurance?
If so, when and
how do | get it?

A: Throughout Europe, third-party liability insurance is compul-
sory in order to obtain registration. Your agent in Sweden will
arrange your insurance for the duration of your stay in Europe
including procurement of the International Insurance Certificate
(Green Card). Although conditions may vary (Swedish law re-
quires home-country insurance in Sweden, for example), the
arrangements for complete coverage, wherever you take deli-
very and wherever you wish to travel, are complete and easily
obtained. Insurance costs in Europe are comparable to those
in the U.S. Of course, temporary insurance of short duration
will be much less than the premium payments you are making
on your yearly insurance in the U.S. To obtain registration, the
insurance will be effective a few days before the actual delivery
time. One month insurance through Saab is compulsory. Saab
strongly recommends that you obtain your insurance through
our delivery plan — simply to avoid unpleasant delivery delays.

Q: How much will it cost
to ship my Saab back
home?

A: In some cases, it’s absolutely free. Delivery from Gothen-
burg, Sweden, for example, to Providence, R.I., Baltimore, Md.,
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Ca., Portland, Or., Newark, N.J.,
Portsmouth, Va., Chicago, Ill., Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn.,
Montreal and Vancouver, Canada, is free of charge’. And that
includes marine insurance with a $25 deductable, and all nor-
mal handling charges in Sweden.

However, if you decide to ship your Saab back home from
a port other than Gothenburg, you can still take advantage of
the lowest cost return shipment program anywhere. The rates
have been specifically designed for Saab’s Tourist Delivery
customers and are quite inexpensive. The alternative drop off
points covered by this program are: London, Amsterdam, Co-
penhagen and Stockholm. Your dealer can inform you as re-
gards the rates for these various alternative drop off points.

* Provided, however, that Saab-Scania shall not be responsible for delay, non-
delivery, default or changes, if occasioned by strikes or work stoppages, war,
riot or revolution, by supervening action of the United States Government or
any other government, or by any other supervening circumstances.

Q: What should | bring
when | drop off my Saab
for shipment home?

A: When a car is “dropped off” for home shipment, the follow-
ing documents are required:

The Tourist Delivery Plan Warranty and Service Booklet.
Registration Certificate.

International Green Insurance Certificate.

Personal belongings cannot be shipped in the car.

Q: Do | pay customs duty
on my Saab?

A: Saab-Scania of America Inc. pays the customs duty on your
new car if you live in the United States and have purchased
your new Saab from one of our authorized U.S. Dealers.

For import to Canada the Federal tax of 12 °%o will be based
upon a depreciation scheme of the manufacturer's suggested
list price of the car when new, as follows: 1 month 5 %/o, 2—3
months 10°%o, 4—5 months 15 °%, 6—7 months 20°%o, 8—10
months 25 °%/o, 11 months 27,5 °/o, 12 months 30 %/o.

Customs duty is free when a former resident of Canada
has been a resident of another country for at least one year
without interruption, and has owned the car for at least six
months before his return.

Q: Can | have a Saab
shipped home without
having used it in Europe?

A: You can also have a Saab shipped home without ever having
seen it in Europe. (Home shipment rates are the same as if
you'd taken physical possession of the car). However, ordering
of such a car must be incidental to a trip outside of North Ame-
rica and proof of your presence abroad will be required.

If you're in the States when you order your Saab shipped
home, you must obtain a “Certificate of Presence Abroad”
which attests to the fact that you actually visited Europe. This
certificate must be notarized in Europe. The factory won't ship
your car until it’s been received. You'll get the Certificate of
Presence when you receive the confirmation of your order.
