New Design of Rear Wheel B earinE and Change d Hub Nut Torque
A new rear wheel bearing has been introduced into production. This is of
angular contact design and replaces the taper roller beari-ngs previously
used. The rear axle has also been modified to incorporate the new bearing.
This takes effect from the following chassis numbers:

Torque figure - New bearing 2ll!
7 ft./Lb. (loo1 10 Nm)
Previous figure - Torque Lo 15 ft.nb. (49 wm), slacken
off and retorque to L.5-3.O tt./l-b. (2-4 Nm).
DO NOT CONFUSE THE TWO TORQUE SETTINGS
Identification:
The new design of bearing can be identified without dismantling by the
size of the hub retaining nut.
New bearing Hub Nut
= 16 mm AF.
Earlier bearing Hub Nut = 27 mm AF.
The new bearing is integral with the hub and must be replaced as an assembly.
